 | EDUCAUSE is the nation's leading organization aimed at promoting the intelligent use of information technology and is composed of more than 1,800 colleges, universities, and educational organizations. EDUCAUSE awarded the SUNY Learning Network its 2001 Award for Systemic Progress in Teaching and Learning, stating, "The SLN approach is an outstanding model for offering a broad range of high quality courses, with a solid, efficient, and cost-effective infrastructure for faculty development and student support." |

 | Sloan-C, a consortium of more than 200 academic institutions dedicated to improving online education in the areas of learning effectiveness, access, affordability, and student and faculty satisfaction, awarded its 2002 Award for Excellence in Institution-Wide Asynchronous Learning Network (ALN) Programming to the SUNY Learning Network, for the "outstanding design and implementation of an ALN (online learning) initiative that enhances the quality of, and increases access to, the educational programs of the State University of New York." In 2001, SLN received the Sloan-C Award for Excellence in ALN Faculty Development which recognized SLN as an institution that has "developed and delivered an outstanding program for faculty professional development" in online teaching and learning.

 | The USDLA promotes the development and application of distance learning for education and training and serves the needs of the distance learning community by providing advocacy, information, networking and opportunity. USDLA awarded the SUNY Learning Network its 2006 21st Century Best Practice Award, stating, “SUNY has raised the bar of excellence and we are truly honored by its contributions to the Distance Learning industry."
